Choose to Quit Smoking

There are more reasons that smokers choose to quit smoking then there are brands of cigarettes, but no matter what your reason or reasons for quitting you have made the right choice.

Some people choose to quit smoking due to the link to health problems such as Lung Cancer, Emphysema, and Heart Disease. Studies now are linking smoking to other health problems including Alzheimer's disease, Lupus, Stroke, and even Blindness from macular degeneration.

Another reason many choose to quit smoking is the cost. With continually rising taxes on cigarettes, the cost of them has become prohibitive, and the cost will continue to rise as the government sees raising taxes as a win-win situation; the higher cost will discourage smoking which is good for health reasons and the increase in taxes will help fund medical care with the additional funding.

With the banning of cigarette smoking in public places such as bars, restaurants and casinos as well as in the workplace it has now become almost impossible to smoke anywhere other than your private vehicle or in your home. Some people predict that eventually you will not be able to smoke in your personal vehicle or home as well. If a person decides to smoke outside, there are laws regulating how far from an entrance you must be, there are weather conditions to consider etc. These are just a few more of the reasons many choose to quit smoking.

The smell of cigarette smoke causes many to choose to quit smoking as it adheres to furniture, carpeting, curtains and other fabrics in the home as well as leaving a film on other items in the home including the walls and windows. Additionally smokers clothes, hair, breath etc. carry the smell of smoke causing many to choose to quit smoking.
